So, how did we get to the solution that 1 percent of 163 = 1.63?

**Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 163 is. We know that 100% of 163 is, well, just 163.**Step 2:**If 100% of 163 is 163, then we can get 1% of 163 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 163 / 100. This is equal to 1.63. Now we know that 1% is 1.63.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 163 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 1.63 times 1 = 1.63. That's all there is to it!
