Take an extra spoonful of sugar in your investment portfolio!

Take an extra spoonful of sugar in your investment portfolio!

Background reasons:

In financial astrology sugar falls under the planet Venus and the zodiac signs Taurus and Libra.

When Saturn (giver of form) moves in one of these signs chances are greater of significant market results.
We saw the all time high with Saturn in Libra in 1980 and, at least, the 4-yearly bottom in 1998 with Saturn in Taurus.

Sugar prices 1980-2010 (July)
Chart: sugar contracts went from $45.75 in 1980 (Saturn in Libra) to $4.36 in 1985 (Saturn in Taurus).

From 31st October 2009 until and including 7th April Saturn in Libra:
sugar more than doubles from $12 to $30.
Saturn left Libra from April until July and sugar declined more than 50 percent.
Now since 21st July Saturn is again in Libra (until 2012):
The line is now up for sugar. During the coming two years there could be a peak in sugar.

Where can the sugar price go to?

For an idea we first look to the past:
Sugar made an all time high in November 1980 at $45.75.
Last top was February just gone at $30.40.
Dip in May at $13.
Now the price is rising again. There lies a natural resistance when the level of the 50% correction from the decline is reached. That is here $21.70.

What to do?

Consider stepping in for the ride to $21.50. The first in-step could be with a sugar future turbo with a stop loss at $12.06, which is far under the $13 bottom. Should sugar rise to 22 or higher then you could consider to go over to,  buy a product with a higher stop loss.

Taking profit is never wrong: take there the first part of your profit.

Should it break through $21.70 then it could go to $24.20 or even $30.40 and higher.
We never push aside the idea of new all time highs. That is to say, sugar prices in dollars of higher than $45.75 within 2 years is possible.
